    Hilda

    Hilda
    36″ x 48″
    Oil on Canvas

This painting was based on a photo taken by my friend Jessica Hemerly while she was traveling through South Africa. I immediately loved the photo, and thought it would make a great subject for a painting, and Jess was kind enough to let me use it. Thanks Jess!

    The Violinist

    The Violinist
    18″ x 24″
Oil on Illustration Board, Mounted on Wood Panel

The reference for this one was a photo I took quite a few years ago of a man playing violin on a street corner in Tijuana. I’d always wanted to paint it, so I’m happy to have finally gotten around to it.

    ARTS

I recently started volunteering as an art teacher at the Pat D’Arrigo ARTS Center in Point Loma.

They have a great complex at the NTC Promenade. ARTS (A Reason To Survive), provides visual, performing and literary art projects for kids facing life challenges.

The people who run it are all very cool, and the kids are a lot of fun to work with. It’s the kind of organization that deserves lots of support, for sure.

  • Catch the Turkey  Aug 26.08

The city of Dana Point sponsors the Turkey Trot 5k/10k run every year to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. My agency was hired to build a site for the 2008 event. The jogging turkey is a character I came up with to make the site a little more fun.

  • Still Life  Aug 03.08

I haven’t finished updating this section on my new site yet, so there will be more content coming soon. Stay tuned!
